Ferm-O-Feed is producer of organic fertilizers.
Ferm-O-Feed produces organic fertilizers and distributes its products all over the world. The company is part of the DEN OUDEN GROEP.
The production facility and sales centre for the organic fertilizer pellets are located in the village of Zeeland in the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant. Ferm-O-Feed is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified and possesses the Dutch VCA and RVV certificates for the production of fertilizer pellet products suitable for export.
In addition, Ferm-O-Feed holds the Control Union Certifications for the production and marketing of fertilizers for organic agriculture. Ferm-O-Feed is recognised by the Dutch government as a fertilizer processor within the context of the new Fertilizers Act.
Production Process
Ferm-O- ...Feed has a unique and fully automated production process. After stringent inspection, the various raw materials are mixed and transferred to one of the six fermentation tunnels. In these tunnels, a controlled aerobic fermentation takes place. During this process, part of the ammoniacal nitrogen is converted into organic nitrogen. Any pathogens or seeds capable of germination that may be present are killed during the fermentation process.
After fermentation, the raw materials are dried and pulverised at high final product is then pressed, cooled and sieved. The pellet diameter is determined in accordance with the customers wishes. If required, the pellets can also be supplied in the form of granules.
The Ferm-O-Feed production process is strictly monitored by the veterinary service. Samples are taken from each production batch and these are analysed in an independent laboratory for microbiological quality and nutrient content.
Distribution
Ferm-O-Feed has modern storage, packaging and dispatch facilities at the address Gerstdijk 6 in Helmond. There is capacity for the bulk storage of approx. 7,000 tonnes of end product plus another 1,500 m2 of filled bags. The extensive storage capacity means it is always possible to satisfy customers requirements.
For the majority of orders, the fertilizer pellets are packed in bags. This takes place on a fully automated double packaging line suitable for 5 kg to 25 kg PE bags. If required, the pallets can be provided with a top cover and wrapping film. The semi-automatic filling unit can be used to fill big bags of 500 kg to 1500 kg. Filling big bags with a PE liner is also possible.
From the Regional Transhipment Centre operated by the DEN OUDEN GROEP, sea containers with products are transported via the inland inland shipping vessels travel directly to their final destination or to Rotterdam or Antwerp, where both containers and bulk are transferred to seagoing vessels, heading for their final destinations, for example countries in the Mediterranean region.

Applications
The Ferm-O-Feed quality products are used all over the world. About 95% of the total sales volume is exported. The uses of the product vary from country to country. For example, there is a high demand for Activit from organic farmers in the Netherlands, to keep the crops supplied with nutrients, while in areas around the Mediterranean sea, the products are primarily used to maintain the level of organic substances in the soil.
The Ferm-O-Feed products are used for a wide variety of crops; from tomatoes to pears and from apples to are also extremely suitable for the hobby sector. Besides this, the fertilizers are used in fish hatcheries to stimulate the growth of algae. which then serve as food for the fish.
The correct pellet size makes Fertiplus ideal for use with a fertilizer spreader or drill fertilizer. Naturally, Fertiplus can also be applied manually. Read more
